While Tony Blair and his bevy of cabinet beauties cook under an increasingly belligerent media gaze (I looked for an appropriate Sun headline, but the Sun newspapers website is absolute dross and has so many coding errors I had to abandon it.) While up here in the Northeast of Scotland we're enjoying some gorgeous weather. Yesterday was so great Pete and me even knocked off early and went for a chip supper down by the river with Tyler, Maya, baby Evelyn and Sam. (We've got pictures).
Last Friday was spent under the oak tree, around a bonfire, watching the moon. Ahhh bliss. Today has been spent catching up with all the work from yesterday. Well it's Scotland and you have to enjoy it while you can. There are now three new entries on the Knowledge Base and a couple more on the way.
In case anyone has missed it, we have a very special promotion on at the moment. If you buy £40 or more of People Tree goodies we'll give you a free silk scarf. Just right to protect you from all this sun.
In the "Don't you know who I am" celebrity news section Snoop (two Os, two Gs) Dogg has reportedly been banned by British Airways. Snoop and has bad boy posse were thrown off a BA flight in April after members of his LA street crew were refused entry to BA's pamper zone at Heathrow's terminal one. Not content with the Costa coffee (available within 5 minutes of all gates or something like that) the heavies threw their weight and several policemen about. Obviously keeping it real with the plebs was all a little too much for the hard men from the streets of LaLa town.
Finally, AOL has unleashed paid for junk mail on an unwitting public. AOL's goodmail services guarantees that spammers, junkmailers, indeed anyone who can afford to, can now guarantee delivery to your inbox bypassing AOL's sub-standard protocols and filters on the way. If you're wondering why you should pay for the privilege of receiving spam then visit the dearaol.com website. (And before anyone says it, yes I do know that goodmail is not based on receiver pays, but rather sender pays) AOL customers are still paying to receive spam through there monthly subscriptions to AOL.
None of this has anything to do with fair trade or sustainable textile products, but then I rarely write about such weighty issues here so why should I start. One sustainable textiles/organic cotton/fair trade clothing event coming up and to put in your diaries is the MAD show. More soon.
