Church hall spy shocker

The village of Malham (population of 120) has recently found itself in the middle of a spy thriller (no jokes about James Bond and the women of the WI's secret cake recipe here) after a high-tech listening device was found hidden in a power socket in the parish hall. The hall caretaker Alan Boatwright said "I have shown it [the bug] to various people and everyone has been falling about laughing". No word yet as to why.
